CHANGE TO EFFECTIVE DATE OF REVIEW CHANGES
This year, for the first time, FTSE’s scheduled March Index reviews coincide with the extended holiday period between 20th & 25th March, during which a large number of markets around the globe are closed.
To assess the impact of this on users of its indices, FTSE has consulted with a broad range of market practitioners. As a result of the feedback received, the schedule for the implementation of the index reviews which were due to occur at this time has been revised:
• the effective date for all index reviews will now be Wednesday 26 March 2008 (i.e. implemented after close of business Tuesday 25 March 2008),
• the March 2008 index reviews will NOT be implemented on Monday 24 March 2008 (or Tuesday 25th March for markets that are closed on 24 March 2008).
ALL index changes for every FTSE Index Series (that is being reviewed or has any changes as a result of FTSE’s March reviews) will be implemented after close of business on Tuesday 25 March 2008, effective from open of business on Wednesday 26 March 2008.
All other dates pertaining to the Index Review schedule are unaffected by this change (i.e. cut-off dates for the reviews, practitioner committee dates and announcements of changes to the indices).
